Conscious Collective

Content Length & Formatting Guidelines

This guide provides recommended word and character counts for content across the Conscious Collective website. The recommendations are intended to preserve readability, visual hierarchy and the intended layout across screen sizes.

These are recommendations, not fixed technical limits unless specifically stated. Strapi may accept longer content, but exceeding the recommended length can affect text wrapping, spacing, truncation and the overall balance of the page. Character counts include letters, numbers, spaces and punctuation.

How to use these guidelines

  • Stay close to the recommended length. The layouts have been designed around these content ranges.
  • Do not treat recommendations as hard limits. Longer content can usually still be entered, but may not display as cleanly.
  • Put the most important information first. This is especially important for Session titles and short descriptors that may truncate in cards or compact layouts.
  • Always preview your changes. Review the page after editing to make sure text wraps and balances correctly across screen sizes.

Home Page - Theme Introduction

Content fieldRecommended lengthFixed limitNotes
Theme introductionUp to 70 wordsNoneDivide the copy into two paragraphs. Longer copy is accepted, but staying close to the recommendation preserves the intended visual balance.

Home Page - Section Descriptor Lines

The Home Page introduces the four Session categories - Showcases, Experiences, Conversations and Workshops - with a short descriptor line beneath each heading. The Collaborators and Archives sections use the same treatment. Keep these lines concise so they remain easy to scan and sit comfortably within the designed layout.

Content fieldRecommended lengthFixed limitNotes
Section descriptor lineApproximately 6-10 wordsNoneUse one short sentence. Aim for a similar length across the category, Collaborators and Archives sections so the Home Page keeps a consistent visual rhythm. Longer copy may wrap onto additional lines and affect the intended balance.

Reference examples:

  • Showcases: Discover ideas and projects shaping a more conscious world.
  • Experiences: Immerse yourself in new ways of seeing, sensing and thinking.
  • Conversations: Explore fresh perspectives through meaningful dialogue.
  • Workshops: Learn by doing, with hands-on sessions led by experts.
  • Collaborators: Meet the talent shaping this edition.
  • Archives: Revisit the highlights that shaped each edition.

These are recommendations rather than technical limits. If the copy needs to change, keep it close to this length and always preview the Home Page to check wrapping across screen sizes.

Session Title & Standfirst / Descriptor Line

The Session title and standfirst work together wherever a Session is introduced, so they should be considered as a pair. Keep the title concise, then use the standfirst to add the short supporting context.

Content fieldRecommended lengthFixed limitNotes
Session title6-8 wordsNoneLonger titles are accepted but may be truncated on Session cards. Place the most important information at the beginning.
Session standfirst / descriptor lineIdeally around 60 characters; up to 120 characters recommendedNoneKeep this to one concise sentence. The same standfirst can appear across the Session Detail Page, Session cards and the Schedule Page, so it should remain short enough to work comfortably in all of these contexts.
